April Has Been Busy!

Hello Friends,

Wow, April has been a busy month for our family!

Our bees made it through the winter. We have been enjoying seeing them around our pear trees. Everyone is hoping for a bumper crop of pears this year!

We welcomed our 6th baby on April 8th. Marshall Jonathon evened out the boys and girls. He is a good baby and everyone is in love with him (Merch alone has enough love for 10 people ❤).

On April 11th Otis, the border collie pup, joined our family. In the fall our dog Coco passed away and it was time for another dog. The kids have been enjoying playing with him. I think many fun memories will be made with Otis.

The guys spent many days working on fence. On April 22nd Eliza and Bo bought 2, 800 pound heifers. Our original plan was to let them finish growing and send them to the butcher. Now that they are here we are thinking we will keep them for breeding.

The fence is done and home to these two heifers.

April 25th, Matthew turned 15. I feel like I blinked and he went from a newborn to a young man.

April 28th, Bo, Marshall and I went to our first Grazing Workshop. What a wonderful blessing to our community to have a group of people that want to share what they have learned with people that are new to rotational grazing.

To round out the month we bought meat and laying chicks, along with 6 baby turkeys. Matthew worked in the garden. Bo is building gates for our deck to keep Merch on the deck so this Momma can have an outside space that contains a soon to be 2 year old B.O.Y.

April has been a busy one! I am so grateful for all the things that was able to be accomplished and all the new additions to our life.

In the coming weeks I will share more about the supplies used for the fence and some of our plans for May.

Until Next Time,

Julie
