June at BFF

Hello Friends,

We have some very exciting news to share with you.

June started off with a horse and a pregnant pony being bought and brought home. Then a few days later our Darcy had 7 PUPPIES! These sweet Border Collie puppies will be available August 1st, if you have any questions feel free to message me! julie@brinkerfamilyfarm.com

We have been planting seeds all month. I’m not 100% sure we will be harvesting everything we planted, but time will tell.

Bo, the kids and I went to Dillon Fruit Farm, Lisbon and picked cherries, blueberries and some raspberries. It was such a fun day!

What’s Coming Up?

July is our county fair, we are getting Eliza ready for that. She taking a horse project this year ❤️

I will be running a sale that week, be on the look out for an email sharing those details around mid- July.

We are expanding our beef program for 2025. Our spring butcher date is full, but we will be having a fall 2025 butcher date as well! We will be offering beef in 1/4, 1/2 or whole cow packages. We raise our cows on a rotationally grazing system, then towards the end we supplement some grain.

I am working on a beef sales information page for the Website (www.brinkerfamilyfarm.com) that will be available in September. That page will give all details needed to preorder, so we can raise the appropriate amount .

Recipe of the month.

Since July is peak blueberry season here in Ohio I thought it would be the perfect time to share this pie recipe. It’s on my list to make very soon with the blueberries we picked and froze.

I hope you enjoy it as much as we have! This recipe is part of the collection of recipes and simple tips on homesteading found in my book, The Simple Homestead. Hardcopies can be bought at The Shoppes on Second, Carrollton, Ohio and you can order a hardcopy or downloadable version on the website. https://brinkerfamilyfarm.com/product/the-simple-homestead-ebook/

Grow Something Beautiful Friends!

Julie
