BFF Updates

I looked back and realized I never shared what we had going on since June!
To start things off we have new animals.
The beginning of June the kids got a horse Cowgirl and a pregnant mini horse, Sparkle. The mini had a colt the end of August. Meet Cowgirl, Sparkle and Cinnamon!
The end of May we welcomed a surprise Hereford heifer. Last fall we bought a pregnant cow and 2 heifers from my family farm. We didn’t know that one for the heifers had been bred by the Hereford bull until she was about ready to have the calve. The calf was born on Eliana’s b-day and was given the name Honey.
Since then we have had 3 more heifers ( Ariel , Poppy and Grace) and a bull (Steak) calf. We are down to 2 more that haven’t calved yet then we are done for the year.
As part of EQIP grant we put in another pasture which included fence and water. The fence work we had done by Diamond T Fencing and the water was done by Bo, his dad and his uncle. That project was recently finished and we were able to let the cows out.
Our Darcy girl had 7 puppies at the beginning of June and we are down to 4 males that are stilling looking for forever homes. I have been letting them walk with me and they are great companions ❤️
As a family we worked on canning projects and are now working on cleaning up the garden and other projects to button things up for winter.
